Evaluation Scheme
- CIA (Internal): 30 marks, ESE (University): 70 marks
- 75% attendance mandatory, project/dissertation credits
LNMU University Examination & CIA Components
The University Examination of each course in all semesters shall have two components:
i. Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) of MJC, MIC, MDC, AEC & SEC containing 30 marks.
ii. End Semester Examination (ESE) of MJC, MIC, MDC, AEC & SEC, VAC containing 70 marks.

Programme Duration and Exit Options

1 | Undergraduate Certificate | After successful completion of Semester II | Exit option: Students earning full credits in Semesters I & II will be awarded the UG Certificate only if they take one Vocational Course of 4 Credits (during Summer Vacation). This course is not included in SGPA & CGPA calculations. |
2 | Undergraduate Diploma | After successful completion of Semester IV | Exit option: Students earning full credits in Semesters I–IV will be awarded the UG Diploma only if they take one Vocational Course of 4 Credits (during Summer Vacation). This course is not included in SGPA & CGPA calculations. |
3 | Bachelor of Science/Arts/Commerce (Hons.) | After successful completion of Semester VI | Exit option: Students are awarded a 3-Year UG Degree in their Major & Minor disciplines after earning credits for Semesters I–VI. |
4 | Bachelor of Science/Arts/Commerce (Hons. with Research) | After successful completion of Semester VIII |
Students will be awarded a UG Honours Degree (Major & Minor) if they complete Semesters I–VIII.
For Honours with Research: Students must have a CGPA of 7.5+ in Semesters I–V and complete 80 credits in the 4th year, including 12 credits from a research project/dissertation. Degree awarded: UG Honours with Research (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com). Total credits: 160. |
A student will be awarded Degree in UG Honours Major and Minor if he/she earns all the credits of I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII & VIII Semester. Students who want UG Degree Honours with Research in Major he / she must obtain 7.5 CGPA and above in the I to VI Semester. Such Students can choose a research stream in the fourth year if they earn (80 Credits, including 12 credit from a research project/ dissertation). They will be awarded UG Degree (Honours with Research). Award of Bachelor Degree with Honours, B.A./B.Sc./B.Com (Hons.): Total credits 160
