Department Objective
- Formulating, implementing, and monitoring national trade policies, such as the Foreign Trade Policy, to promote exports and manage international trade relations. This also includes handling issues related to international trade organizations like the WTO.
- Promoting and facilitating both domestic and international trade through a range of services and initiatives, like streamlining export and import processes.
- Encouraging economic growth through a variety of initiatives, including supporting Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and export-oriented industries. They also conduct market analysis and work to improve domestic and global competitiveness.
- Acting as a resource for businesses by providing information, advocating for industry needs, and promoting compliance with commercial regulations.
